2011 - The Albinism: a livable diversity - 2nd National Conference

Visual Impairment and Italian legislation: from school integration to work integration
Honorable Amalia Schirru

We briefly mentioned the main bylaw in the Italian legislation adopted to cope with problems related to visual impairment: assessment of the state of disability, handicap and blindness and school and employment integration.
The real purpose of the report was to highlight the weaknesses of the rules and the fact that in practice they are often not applicable or not effective enough, for this reason some of them should be improved or changed with new and appropriate action by the legislature.
Proposals were submitted and subjected to the considerations of the participants and other speakers with the aim of convert them into real bills to be presented in Parliament.
